Biography

Slash, by its real name Saul Hudson, is best known for being the solo guitarist of Hard-Rock Guns N' Roses. Recognizable of his high hat and his particular guitar game, he is one of the best known and most famous guitarists. It was about the age of 14 that he learned to play on an acoustic guitar and later on on electrics. Listening a lot to Aerosmith , Led Zeppelin , Kiss or Jimi Hendrix he devotes a lot of time to learning his instrument to the detriment of his schooling. From 1985 to 1995 he was the guitarist of Guns N' Roses, who met an international success as soon as his first album Appetite For Destruction was released in 1987. He also recorded Use Your Illusion I&II in 1991 and "The Spaghetti Incident?" two years later. In disagreement with Axl Rose, Slash left Guns N' Roses in 1996 after declaring that he could no longer work with the singer given the latter's control over the band. He then focused on Slash's Snakepit, a band inspired by the Rock of the 70s that he formed in 1994, and dissolved in 2001 after releasing two albums: It's Five O'Clock Somewhere in 1995 and Ain't Life Grand in 2000. New project in 2002 and back to Hard-Rock roots with Velvet Revover which he founded with two former members of Guns N' Roses . He released two highly successful records: Contraband in 2004 and Libertad in 2007. In 2009, the guitarist was in the middle of recording his first real solo album, on which he wanted to invite many celebrities. The eponymous record was finally released in 2010. Throughout his career, Slash has been involved in many projects with artists such as Iggy Pop, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan or Queen.
