Slick Shoes
Biography
Slick Shoes was formed in 1995 in California, Lancaster. In '96, Ryan Kepke (singer at the time 14 years old!) joined the band and barely 2 weeks later, they recorded a demo K7 with an execrable sound while the latter did not even know the lyrics yet. Yet Tooth&Nail seems to be seduced and decides to give Californians their chance. At the rhytm of one album a year until 2000, the combo's reputation grew more and more rapidly; The changes in line-up did not alter the spirit of Slick Shoes (latest date: David Stoltenberg on guitar in November 2002), nor did the label change at the end of '02: they left the Christian label Tooth & Nail for Side One Dummy. Far From Nowhere released in July '03 marks a kind of new start for the band even though the style remains virtually unchanged!
