Snapcase
Biography
In '89, Daryl Taberski (bassist at the time and now singer), the only remaining founding member of Snappase, form Solid State that later became Snappase. In 2 years, the line up constantly changes and the group records some demos... Summer '91, the group adopts Snappase as a new name but that does not prevent the line up from being so unstable! After 2 demos Break the silence and King of the mountain in '91 and '92, the Americans signed on Victory Records. That same year, Comatose, the band's 1st real EP, appeared on the label now known arch of Chicago and a little before the recording of Lookinglasself ('93), Daryl went on to sing. The hardcore combo that finds its identity then comes out Steps in '95. Early '97 marks the release of Progression Through Unlearning, still on Victory! Then between mid-1997 and early 1998, Snappase split up... to better meet and release a Split EP with their BoySetsFire buddies ('99)! 2000 is the year of the consecration with the release of Designs For Automotion that makes well talk about him in the hardcore scene! A separate sound and a striking band are unveiled! After months of tour, they return in September 2002 with End Transmission, their most successful album to date! In view of the next album (which they started composing early '04) and to keep fans waiting, releases Bright Flashes, an album grouping rarity, b-sides etc. of the band. The new album will never be released, however, Snappase unfortunately split up in 2005, after having scored more than a decade of the hardcore scene of his imprint. Now a dead and buried cult group, Snappase seems to never have to return, despite three concerts event at the end of 2007. A retrospective DVD including their last concert in 2005 is scheduled to be released in 2008.
