Soap&Skin is the stage name of a young Austrian artist, Anja Plaschg. After many years studying piano, she released a first eponymous EP in 2008, accompanied by a series of concerts in her country that made her melancholic ballads known to the piano and her fragile voice. His first album, both classical and cinematic, appeared at Pias in 2009 and has the title Lovetune for Vacuum, his vocals while melancholy not without recalling Nico (Velvet underground), his piano and violin arrangements as sudden as ice, and his dissonant electronic experiments so personal already make him an unclassifiable artist. After a collaboration on the title Goodbye of the album The Devil's Walk by Apparat , it will take until 2012 to see Anja come back with a new album, Narrow disembarks in a particular context, since the young woman lost her father shortly before her writing, and that of course this event greatly influenced the orientation of this one, which paradoxically is less lonely and painful than her predecessor, the essay will be followed shortly afterwards by an EP 3 titles by the name of Sugarbread , in which we find a cover of Robert Johson's Me And The Devil.
