Sofy Major
Biography
Originally from Clermont-Ferrand, Sofy Major was first of all an official in a post-hardcore noisy register with screamo mois. After a first record 7 tracks noticed, the band followed the concerts in addition to sharing a split with One Second Riot and Her Breath On Glass in 2007. In 2009, Sofy Major asserted a more noise-like position with a 12" eponymous very good bill. To mark with a white stone their 5 years of activity, all their compositions are grouped into 5 Years Of Freaks in 2009. The following year Sofy Major entered the studio after a nice tour to record Permission To Engage. Then followed a split with Membrane in 2011, then another with Uncle Touchy the following year, and a second album, Idolize, in 2013, recorded in pain, with Hurricane Sandy having ravaged Andrew Schneider's Translator Audio studio ( Converge, Keelhaul, Pigs) in Brooklyn. 2014 sees the birth of a new split with Hombre Malo , while the third long format Waste emerges more serenely in 2015, still with Andrew Schneider at the handlettes but with the addition of Dave Curran (Unsane , Pigs ) as a co-producer, always distributed by the excellent Solar Flare label. It will take until January 2019 to see a fourth album, Total Dump , where Curran manages production in addition to the rest, hosted by Corpse Flower Records and Deadlight Entertainment.
