Biography

Formed in 1994, Solstafir initially gave in the Black Metal before turning to the sound that characterizes the band today. Icelanders, stabilized in their evolution since two albums now play a Rock / Metal stretched in length, flat and cold strongly marked by the influence of Fields Of The Nephilim. Köld was released in early 2009 and Solstafir followed up with prestigious festivals such as the Roskilde Festival, the Wacken Open Air, and twice toured Europe in 2009 and 2010. The band's fourth album, Svartir Sandar, was released by Season of Mist in October 2011. Once again, the album is well received. The title Fjara ranks even first in Icelandic sales. Solstafir is back in 2014 with the album Ótta which also meets a successful franc. Despite this in June 2015, drummer Guðmundur Óli Pálmason announced his removal from the group following internal conflicts.
