Spoon
Biography
Out of the Texan desert, Spoon (whose band name is a tribute to Can's German lead track) is one of the leading bands on the current Indie Rock US scene. Founded in 1993 by singer/guitarist Britt Daniel and drummer Jim Eno, the quartet released its first album, Telephono , in 1996 by Matador ( Pavement , Dead Meadow , Sonic Youth , Yo La Tengo ...). This first guarantee of quality led them to release, at a major, A Series of Sneaks, in 1998, and to quickly sign at Merge Records (Dinosaur Jr , Caribou , Polvo , Neutral Milk Hotel ...) for their third album, Girls Can Tell (2001).
Starting that year, the band began to make themselves known, to be part of the hype nebula Pitchfork and released the very acclaimed Gimme Fiction in 2005. Ga Ga Ga Ga (2007) and Transference (2010) are helping to increase the popularity of the band, which shoots TV sets on TV sets in the United States and whose songs are featured in episodes of US series.
