Spotlights
Biography
First duet originally from Brooklyn Spotlights emerged around 2015, exhibiting via a first demo soberly titled Demonstration a Post-Metal / Shoegaze / Doom assemblage quite daring for the time. But it was in 2016 that Sarah and Mario Quintero were noticed, after the release of their first album Tidals, with the totally DIY design, which will allow them to shoot with Deftones, the Melvins, Hum, Pallbearer, Glassjaw and Quicksand. At the same time the radar of Aaron Harris ( Isis , Palms ) marks them and this one will produce the next album, Seismic , just a year later in 2017. The founders of the Ipecac label, Mike Patton and Greg Werckman, also do not hesitate to sign them to release this second long. After a number of praises from the press and a few tours, the duo became a trio with the addition of drummer Chris Enriquez (Primitive Weapons), knowing that the drum parts were previously recorded by guests or Mario himself, then composes a new album, Love&Decay, still in their small New York studio, which will be laid out in 2019. A little later in 2020 Spotlights released the EP We Are All Atomic at Blues Funeral Records, exploring their formula even further.
