Staind
Biography
Staind is a New American metal band based in Springfield, Massachusetts. The origin of Staind dates back to Christmas 1993, when Mike Mushok and Aaron Lewis met. Very quickly, they recruit two other musicians, to write a music at the crossroads of Tool, Korn and Alice in Chains. The four Americans did rehearsals from 1994, and after a line-up overhaul, they played their first concert as Staind in February 1995. They released a self-produced album, Tormented , in 1996 which will sell more than 4,000 copies. That year, the band had the opportunity to make the first part of Limp Bizkit; initially shocked by the cover of their record, Fred Durst tried to get them fired from the festival, without success. Good for him and for the band, because from the band's first song, Durst became aware of the band's talent and almost immediately decided to produce them in his record label Flip Records, where the band released its second album entitled Dysfunction in 1999. The blast will take place on the Family Values 1999, thanks to a duo with Fred Durst (Outside ). The singles Mudshovel , Home and Just Go also loop on the radio. In 2001, it was the media explosion, thanks to the single It的s Been Awhile from the album Break The Cycle which is number one on American rock radios. That same year, the 2001 Family Tour with Linkin Park and the Stone Temple Pilots definitely brought them into the courtyard of the greats. In 2003, after the release of a Live MTV Unplugged acoustic, Staind attempted to repeat the success of Break The Cycle (5 million CDs sold). Although number one on the billboard for a week, the album 14 Shades Of Grey makes a semiflop and barely exceeds the million copies sold. That year, Aaron Lewis and Mike Mushok will also make an acoustic appearance at Metallica MTV Music Icon on Nothing Else Matters. In 2004, the lead singer of the band Aaron Lewis, made a mini solo tour of a few dates in Las Vegas where he met a great success, which did not prevent him from working with the rest of the band to prepare their next album. Staind returned in 2005 with his fifth album, soberly titled Chapter V , which, like the two previous ones, immediately led the American billboard. In 2006 released a best-of titled The Singles: 1996-2006 , then two years later The Illusion Of Progress , the band's sixth album.
