Biography

Steve Harris was born on 12 March 1956 in Leytonstone, England. Young boy, he wants to get on the drums, but for lack of space, he resists playing bass in self-taught. Very quickly, he started in the group Influence (later Gypsy's Kiss) which split up after only a few concerts in the bars. He then auditioned for Smiler, but was fired after the band members considered his music too complicated. He founded Iron Maiden in 1975. Steve Harris remains the main speaker until today and has signed about 80% of the compositions. He is considered one of the most influential bassists on the Metal scene, inspired by bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or Yes. In 2012, he reactivated the British Lion project under his name with David Hawkins (Guitare / Claviers), Richard Taulor (Chant), Simon Dawnson (Battery) and Grahame Leslie (Guitare). The album appeared at the end of 2012 at Emi Music.
