Steven Wilson

Steven John Wilson (born November 3, 1967 in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom) is a British guitarist, singer, producer and self-taught composer, mainly known as the leader of Porcupine Tree.
While continuing to devote himself to his many other projects, it was from 2003 that Wilson released the first songs under his own name, in the form of CD 2 tracks composed of an original and a cover. To date, he has released six of them, entitled Cover Version (the last of which was in 2010), there are covers by Alanis Morissette, ABBA, The Cure, Momus, Prince and Donovan. It was in November 2008 that Insurgentes released his first real solo album, recorded in various places in the world of Mexico, Japan and Israel. Its title refers to Mexico City's longest street "Avenida de los Insurgentes". The album in one of its limited versions contains a photo book made by Lasse Hoile a Danish photographer and long-time friend who also co-authored on the video of "Harmony Korine", the first excerpt from the album as well as on the artist's work (but also with Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, The Pineapple Thief, Opeth ...). In the meantime Wilson is back into his other projects, including the release of The Incident , 10th album by Porcupine Tree and Welcome To My DNA third album by Blackfield , and also announces the creation of Storm Corrosion in collaboration with Mikael Åkerfeldt. He returned in 2011 with a double opus Grace For Drowning recorded between January 2010 and June 2011 whose artwork was once again signed by Lasse Hoile. The album (decomposed in two parts "Deform to Form a Star" and "Like Dust I Have Cleared from My Eye") considered by many as the most complex of his career is more experimental and airier than his predecessor. A third studio album is already scheduled for 2012.
