From the French capital, Lotfi, Saul, Digo and Matt met around the name Straightaway in September '99. For two years the quartet repeats while getting to know each other. Many plans then fall to the water but the combo still manages to make some dates in France and abroad, sharing the poster with sizes such as No Use For A Name, Bigwig, Strung Out, Lagwagon, A Wilhelm Scream, Ten Foot Pole, Satanic Surfers, The Lawrence Arms, Paint It Black, Undeclinable, Belvedere, Digger ...
March '05 sees the recording of their first EP, Emotions and Anger. After 5 weeks of European tour alongside Useless ID . At the end of this getaway, Fab took up the position of bassist and brought the Parisians the stability sought. At the time, Bells On Records was interested in the band and signed a reissue of the EP in '06. Straightaway then focuses on the first full length, Democracy of Spreading Poverty recorded at Loko Studio. Originally scheduled for June '07, its release is postponed to December (on 7 labels and 4 different continents). Meanwhile, Digo leaves and leaves the sticks to Axl (ex- Guerilla Poubelle). The quartet plans to bring its new mill to Eastern Europe in March 2008.
