Biography

Streetlight Manifesto trained around 3 fallen musicians from Catch 22 who participated in the recording of Keasbey Night (Tomas Kalnoky (song, guitar & composition), Josh Ansley (bass) and Jamie Egan (trombone). Surrounded at the start of 3 ex-One Cool Guy to form a heterogeneous band (2 guitars, 2 sax, 1 trumpet, 1 bass and 1 drummer) they released their first Demo EP in 2002, an EP that will be worth a signature at Victory Records (Catch 22 house). We will remember from the media war waged between the 2 formations, that Streetlight Manifesto seeks its core target in the fans of Keasbey Nights who would have been disappointed by the following albums of the C22. But this demo of 4 tracks will soon reassure his world so finally the band does not attack openly by his music at Catch 22 . Indeed, far from a simple copy of the reference album the Streetlight Manifesto create a style unique to them that will avoid any vendetta. And this they confirm with the release of their album '03 at the end of August entitled Everything Goes Numb. Welcomed by the review, the disc allows to spin a little everywhere but does not prevent some changes of line-up. In 2006, the band released its version of Keasbey Nights, a reinterpretation of Catch 22's album of the same name, which fueled rumours of tension between Kalnoky and his former peers. The following year Somewhere In The Between arrived at Victory Records. The following album is a collaboration of 99 Songs of Revolution, with two Streetlight Manifesto records and two Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution records. Released in 2010, he began a new album called The Hands that Thieve , originally announced in November 2012. Unfortunately, following some exchanges with the label, the album arrived in 2013, on the one hand by the label, and on the other hand made available by the band anonymously on the Internet. We must wait until 2017 for the different legal opponents Kalnoky and Victory to be resolved.
