Sumerlands
Biography
Formed in 2013 in Philadelphia, USA, Sumerlands consists of Phil Swanson (Chant - ex Atlantean Kodex ), Arthur Rizk (Guitare / Claviers / Bass - Eternal Champion , Power Trip ), Justin De Tore (Battery - ex Magic Circle , Dream Unending ) and John Powers (Guitare - Eternal Champion ). The band released its first demo the following year and refined its first album, eponymous, which was released in 2016 via Relapse Records. Influenced by the great names of the 70s and 80s ( Iron Maiden , Cirith Ungol , Manilla Road ...), Sumerlands is one of the most promising formations of the current American Heavy Metal. Brendan Radigan ( Magic Circle) replaces Phil behind the microphone and Brad Raub (Eternal Champion) arrives at the bass. The now quintet released a second album, Dreamkiller, in 2022 still with Relapse Records.
