Suction became SUP alias Spherical Unit Provided is the most goth of metal bands, and the most metal of French goth bands. Unquestionably one of the most surprising bands ever known as musically as much as at the level of visuals. In 1990 released their 1st CD Sultry Obsession, the song 1308 JP 08 which, however, dates from their beginnings, will immediately define the musical style of the band, i.e. a strange, evolutionary Death Mélodic with riffs of melancholic and sensual guitars; a song sometimes greasy sometimes very New Wave. In September 1992, Suction signed a contract with Reincarnate Records-Danceteria for the recording of their first album The Cube. And this is the beginning of an unusual spiral. Artworks against current since The Cube is a 100% Death album with a 100% electro cover, imagine in 1992 the reaction of the Death metalleux underground, and yes Suction stirs up the critics and meets a great success in its musical approach totally different from the rest of the scene of the time. In 1995 it was the coup de théâtre, Supuration became SUP when the second album, Anomaly, was released, a rather futuristic opus that narrated the history of a machine that had taken control of human beings and exploited them, only one of them to the consciousness that awakened... Despite this album concept sublimely executed success is not totally on the rendezvous. In 1997 SUP signed with Holy Records which was then a label known for its bands a little out of date with the rest of the world of Metal (Septic Flesh had his chance thanks to them, you must know) for the album Room Seven , always based on a concept, that of the dreams of an autistic child. 1999 sees the release of Chronophobia , which can be considered as the masterpiece of the formation, a cold, melancholic but hard opus that tells the story of two twin brothers caught in the spiral of time. 2002 Angelus is the one who gets into the bins, Imago in 2005, Hegemony in 2008. The French are surprising musicians and men, in 2004 they take up the identity of Suction for the sequel of The Cube with Incubation, and finally close the chapter in 2013 with CU3E, 20 years after the release of the first story. Navigating between the SUP entity and Suction, the neophyte can get lost. In 2015 Reveries is released... which is a compilation of former titles re-recorded and mastered by Dan Swano. 2016 could mark the return of SUP with a new album.
