In 2017, Max Portnoy (the son of Mike Portnoy (yes the one who played in Dream Theater), drummer, contacted Andrew Cooper (the son of Alice Cooper ... Ah? I'm told in the earpiece that no!) and Derrick Schneider (son of Lars Schneider, okay, he's not a musician, he's an agronomist engineer but he's still his father!) so they can join him on guitar and bass on his new project. Having recorded an instrumental EP and looking for a singer Max, send Papa Portnoy to approach Justin Bonitz, a singer on youtube to join the adventure. In a week he wrote the lyrics, recorded his parts and joined the band. A few line ups later, here are the four Compères à five Mewzen (I see you coming but not his father is not a Pokémon) having joined them on keyboards and samples a few months before the recording of Matriphagy their first studio album released in the last quarter of 2020.
