Tame Impala
Biography
Tame Impala was born from Kevin Parker's previous band, the Dee Dee Dums , which mixed Blues, Jazz and Psychological Rock influences. At the end of 2007, the group changed its name to Tame Impala, which comes from the impala, a small antelope. It is now in the form of a trio always composed of Kevin Parker (Chant / Guitar) and Dominic Simper (Basse), then Jay Watson as drummer that the band continues on the path of psychedelism. In July 2008, they signed an international contract with the independent label Modular Recordings and released their first eponymous in September. The trio is number 1 on the Australian Independent Record Labels Chart and tenth on the ARIA Physical Singles Chart and even plays in the first part of bands such as You Am I, The Black Keys, Yeasayer and MGMT. The release of their first album, Innerspeaker , scheduled for May 2010, gives them a growing reputation. In 2012 it was the revelation with Lonerism that was crowned by many magazines and webzines. The band is already gaining cult status among the amateur audience of Rock Independent or Psychedelic. In 2015, the band scrambled the tracks with Currents, a much less focused album that Kevin Parker recorded and produced alone.
