Tartufi
Biography
Tartufi was originally a trio formed in San Francisco in 2001. The Power pop obedience band releases two albums, So We Are Alive and Trouble before dissolving and reinventing itself. Lynne Angel (guitars, voices) and Brian Gorman (percussions) decide to take everything from scratch. In three months, the duo changed direction, reshaped its sound and released Us Upon Buildings Upon Us in 2006. National Spotlight: Tartufi was named San Francisco Bay's best indie band (by the San Francisco Bay Guardian) in 2007 after shooting three times in the USA.
This title rewards the richness and complexity of Us Upon... which has nothing to envy to the so-called progressive rock formations but also the social commitment of the group that founded a school of music for children, Saturday Morning Rock out and a label, Thread Productions, in support of many local groups.
Back in the studio in 2008, under the leadership of Tim Green (The Melvins , Joanna Newsom ), Angel and Gorman released Nets of Waves And Wire in 2009 (on Southern Records - Blood & Time , Dälek , Mothlite ), a labyrinth album rich in instruments and arrangements, a sort of deconstruction of modern indie.
