Biography

Tenhi is a separate group. Originally from Finland, he plays in progressive folk music full of feelings. The Finnish trio (current line-up) has created a world that is unique and very strong, capable of transmitting by means of many instruments (folk guitar, piano, violins, drums, flute, etc.).
Formed in 1996, Tenhi impressed by his composition talent with a demo in 1997, then a mcd titled Hallavedet the following year. The bases of a work are laid: felt atmospheres, lightness and simplicity, and above all melancholy. The band's music sounds like no other in the folk scene, with a truly Finnish paw (in addition to the Finnish song) and a natural sound close to the listener.
With his first album Kauan, Tenhi perfects his varied and touching melodies, in a communion with the undeniable and very personal nature. In any case, the music of the trio continues to evolve, towards more mild and varied skies, and the trend is confirmed with Väre in 2002, second album, and certainly the brightest and most playful recording that it was given to the recording band. These first two albums are therefore affirmed as masterpieces of the international folk scene.
Four years later, Maaäet took on the difficult succession of Väre, and yet assumed his role perfectly. Tenhi returns to his sources, using his writing talent to create again a black and disturbing journey, through a new massive and intense album, made of a thousand sounds.
