Tera Melos
Biography
In Roseville, in the suburbs of Sacramento (California, USA), Tera Melos formed in 2004 under the impulse of Nick, Nathan and Jeff Worms (guitar) who tired of punk and hardcore bands in which they played (No Regard, The Hoods, Stabbed in the Throat ...) Jeff quickly made the connoisseur of a drummer named Vince Rogers during an impro jazz class. The latter is not very excited about playing in a punk band; He nevertheless agreed to repeat a pair of times and very soon it became clear that Tera Melos would not do punk. The quartet then starts looking for a singer, without success: the project will therefore be instrumental.
The first concerts without difficulty extend the popularity of the band, which quickly became known for its eccentric and energetic performances. After a few involuntary bloody collisions with members of the public, the Springman region label is curious to see the phenomenon that has already opened for The Locust, Planes Mistaken For Stars, These Arms Are Snakes, Big Business, Oxes, Desert City Soundtrack, Bear Vs. Shark and, conquered, the sign for two opus. The first one, Untitled , was released on October 04. It has some success and several presses.
In 2006, the quartet is already at its hundredth concert and second van when Jeff drops the task and reduces the combo to the trio: Nick Reinhart will then manage the guitar and the electronic part alone in concert. It's time to go back to the title conquest and Tera Melos released Drugs to the Dear Youth on September 10, by Sargent House. The first big tours offered them with, in the beginning, a plateau with The Fall of Troy, Portugal. The Man and Damiera, followed by a US tour with Heavy Heavy Low Low. Meanwhile, they continue to compose and Temporary Residence publishes in November a split CD with By the End of Tonight that they will promote on the roads in January Californians return in 2010 with a second album under the elbow, Patagonian Rats , imbued with pop sounds, especially in the song of Reinhart, also equipped with a new drummer in the person of John Clardy arrived two years before the release. Three years later X'ed Out comes out, with a line-up stabilized, in the continuity of the previous disk. It will take four years to see the fourth long, Trash Generator, still sheltered by Sargent House.
