
The Book Of Knots
Biography
The Book Of Knots is an experimental project formed in 2003 by three disturbed boys: Joel Hamilton (Unsane , Battle Of Mice ), Matthias Bossi (Skeleton Key , Sleepytime Gorilla Museum ) and Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu , Battle Of Mice ). Carla Kihlstedt ( Sleepytime Gorilla Museum) will join this beautiful team a little later to give voice on the compositions before guard, noise and rock art of the quartet. An eponymous first concept album will be released at Archlight Records in 2004, an ode to rotting cities on the seaside. A second, Trainer , will come in 2007, this time at Anti- , paying tribute to the American rust belt. For this album, the band invites from the beautiful world: Tom Waits , Mike Watt (The Minutemen ), Jon Langford (Waco Brothers ) and David Thomas (Pere Ubu ). A third strange musical object will appear in 2011, aeronautics is the theme, Garden Of Fainting Stars is the name. This final effort is signed on Ipecac Recordings and we meet Mike Patton, but also Blixa Bargeld (Einstürzende Neubauten) and many others.
