
The Contortionist
Biography
Inspired by bands like Meshuggah , Between The Buried And Me , Dream Theater , The Dear Hunter , Textures or even Isis , The Contortionist was founded in 2007 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jake Morris (Chant), Joey Baca (Battery), Robby Baca (Guitare), Cameron Maynard (Guitare) and Christopher Tilley (Basse) recorded a first ep in 2008, Shapeshifter, self-produced and laying the foundation for their Metalcore/Deathcore. Dave Hoffman replaced Jake for singing in 2008, but also added keyboards in combo music. A second ep released in 2009 named Apparition , then The Contortionist was noticed by the label Good Fight Music. Jonathan Carpenter replaced Dave in 2010 before the release of the first album, Exoplanet, which adopted a more progressive turn in combo music. What they confirm with a more controlled record in 2012 entitled Intrinsic . But in 2013 it was once again the waltz of singers since Michael Lessard replaced Jonathan and the following year Jordan Eberhardt took up the position of bassist. A third opus, Language , is confirmed for 2014.
