The Death Set
Biography
Originally from Sidney (Australia), The Death Set is formed around the duo Johnny Sierra and Beau Velasco (initially in Black Panda) after a first encounter in the original city of both musicians, Gold Coast. Very quickly, the first version of The Death Set recorded an EP, To, which already oscillates between Electro and Rock and allows them to open for Ben Frost. Their first signature was for a reissue of To at Morphius Records, but the combo moved to Brooklyn and then Baltimore and signed in 2008 at Counter Records. An album, Worldwide , landed the same year and allowed them to make themselves known, notably through a concert at the Reeding and Leads Festival. Unfortunately, the following year, Beau Velasco was found dead in the studio. The Death Set decided to continue the adventure, believing that their former companion would have wished not to see the band stop. In 2001, Michel Poiccard , their second album, plunged into the charts, further expanding the panel of musical records borrowed by the combo. After several series of concerts across the World, The Death Signs at Dim Mak for a first EP King Babies, announced for spring.
