Biography

The Faceless is an American technical deathcore band formed in 2004 drawing its inspiration from Necrophagist's Death-Metal technique, in the brutality of Cannibal Corpse and science fiction, the singer of the band sometimes using a vocoder that gives a futuristic effect to their music. Michael Keene (Guitare, Chant), Steve Jones (Guitare), Brandon Giffin (Basse) and Brett Batdrof (Battery) recorded their first abum, Akeldama in 2006. Quickly noticed, The Faceless turns alongside Necrophagist , Decapitated , Nile and The Black Dahlia Murder , but the drummer leaves the band on the finished tour and after several succumbing replacements of other drummers, it is Lyle Cooper who definitely takes the position in 2007. Deathcore recorded its second effort, Planetary Duality in November 2008, which even propels The Faceless on Billboard 200. Their fame is in full swing, allowing them to play with Cynic and Meshuggah for more than 50 dates across the United States in 2009. Follows many concerts with Cannibal Corpse, Neuraxis, Obscura, In Flames or Between The Buried And Me. Brandon Giffin left the band in 2010, replaced by Jared Lander and Evan Brewer in 2011. Steve Jones also left the band, replaced by Wes Hauch, while Geoffrey Ficco was recruited as second singer. With these changes of line-up, The Faceless adopts a new posture with a third album, Autotheism , still as technical but exploring more progressive paths.
