The Forces Of Evil

The Forces Of Evil is a kind of "best of" band from the Orange County ska scene (California, cradle of the revival ska). Their story begins in January 2001 with the meeting between members of the late Jeffries Fan Club (Justin: drummer (also in Longfellow), Derek: bassist and Chris: trombone (also in The Specials)) with the charismatic singer/guitarist of Reel Big Fish: Aaron Barrett. Then he was grafted Jay (student trompettist), Jonny (trombone in Lone Raspberry) and John with the second trumpet. This gives us 7 experienced musicians: 2 trumpeters, 2 trombones, 1 singer/guitarist, 1 bassist and a drummer. A year and a half later, F.O.E. released its first EP titled Because We Care... which features a ska style that is sleek, simple and effective. It was only in March 2003 that an LP entitled Friend or FOE? finally sees the light; an album that has been waiting but it could not have been otherwise with the busy schedule of Aaron Barette within RBF (tours, new album: Cheer Up...)
