Biography

The Heavy is two friends, Kelvin Swaby (song) and Dan Taylor (guitar), Rythm&Blues fans, to whom Spencer Page (bass) and Chris Ellul (battery) came. The band originally from Bath with a definitely rock face draws its energy from its many influences: blues, soul, funk, garage, 70's rock... Weared by Corin Dingley, their former drummer, the English released their first singles in 2007 on Don't Touch Recordings. The quartet was quickly spotted by Ninja Tune, whose first album they released, Great Vengeance and Furious Fire, and began to make a name for themselves. Two years later, their single How You Like Me Now? from The House That Dirt Build contributes to their growing fame, as does their noticed live performances. The Bathonians continue their momentum, leaving in 2012 The Glorious Dead .
