Biography

Members of The Horrors are from the English countryside in the remote suburbs of London. Apart from the microcosm of the capital, they have, they say, listened throughout their adolescence to groups out of time and older sounds by being little influenced by the new fashionable groups. It is by organizing regular evenings in the basement of a large hotel that the group gradually becomes noticed, as the concept reaches people further and further. It was at this time that the Horrors formation was created and self-produced in this basement, in the company of training that the young people invited. Arrive what has to happen, the band is spotted and supported, until to release its first disc, Strange House, which clearly sticks to it the unauthentic group label, garage rock vaguely post-punk and lofi, formatted up to haircuts. After a copious tour, during which the band met Portishead, Geoff Barrow, of the same band agrees to produce their next record, Primary Colours, which will mark a change of its radical, diving into a black gold wave gothic to nails, drowned in the reverberations shoegaze. This record makes him the unanimous in the international press, and the Sea Within a Sea video serves as a systematic trigger for people who approach the band for the first time.
