The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble

Side-project formed by Jason Kohnen (also known as Bong-Ra ), The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (TKDE) is a collective with variable geometry that operates in the electro / jazz / ambient worlds. Initially, with the help of Gideon Kiers , Kohnen arranged original tapes for old silent films (Nosferatu , Metropolis among others). The music of these experiments will then echo the music of TKDE .
The duo became a quartet in 2004 and the first eponymous album was released in 2006. Electronic nappers, repetitive loops, the band's music allows for fine round-trips between genres without ceaseing to develop a visual side possessed. 2 members added to the project the following year, giving the ensemble an additional boost to release an EP, Mutations and a second album in 2009.
The repetitive penchant and the drone/doom side are also found in TKDE's alter ego: The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation, composed of the same members.
