Biography

The Makai was born in early 2004 in Chico (California), but the band was faced with numerous line-up changes over a year. He recorded some demos and played in 2006 with bands such as High On Fire, Dillinger Escape Plan or Kylesa. The band is at Chico's Black Lodge for the recording of its first album, which will be mastered by Colin Jordan (Ministry) at the Boiler Room in Chicago. The End Of All You Know is released in July 2007 at Seventh Rule Recordings. The following year The Makai made a European tour in February/March and then a 7" split with the Germans of Attack Of The Mad Axeman released in late 2008 via De Rock Recordings and Subject To Suffering for the U.S.A. and Flowerviolence and Für Mental Hygiene Institute for Germany. In 2009, bassist Jeff Worrel left the band. It is replaced by Adrian Hammons of Red Giant. A 10" split with Nux Vomica comes out at the end of the year at Dysphoria Records. The Makai's second album, produced by Chris Common, Embracing The Shroud Of A Blackened Sky, was released in August 2010 via Halo Of Flies ( Fall Of Efrafa , Protestant , Masakari ).
