Biography

The Streets represents the project of one man, the British youth of Birmingham, Mike Skinner. A true revelation of urban music, Skinner relies heavily on machines such as samplers that give his music strong electronic tones. Supported by a flow Hip Hop scanning committed texts, his records reflect the daily life of the English middle class from which he emerged, between social criticism and derision. His second album, A Grand Don't Come For Free , confirmed the success begun by Original Pirate Material in 2002. In 2006, The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living was released, followed by Everything Is Borrowed in 2008.
