Biography

Atypical training, The Warlocks formed in 1999 and knew nearly 19 different members before stabilizing to 6 permanent members - 1 bassist, 3 guitarists and 2 drummers. Very influenced by the Krautrock and the Velvet Underground, the band released its first album, Rise And Fall , in 2001 before becoming known to the public with Phoenix , 2 years later. Hallucinatory, aerial, 60's way of rock 'n roll, this record devotes the band and its frontman Bobby Hecksher, familiar with the decadent universe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Little by little, the band then heads towards a suffocating and dark shoegaze, spreading its Velvet ienne influence, as evidenced by the last two releases of the band, Heavy Heavy Skull Lover (2007) and The Mirror Explodes (2009), probably the darkest album of the band.
