Biography

Theopsya was founded in 2006 in Toulouse. Tanguy Jacquemier (guitar, screams) and Pierre Bedos (guitar), who already played together the covers of Trivium and Children Of Bodom, met Rémy Alarçon (bass) and Nicolas Sordello (drums). The band began with Speed Power Metal until the arrival of a keyboardist and then a singer. To adapt to the new recruits, Theopsya's music takes a more melodic turn, enriched by symphonic influences. After a few concerts in southern France, the group was forced to stop its activities for geographical reasons, with three of the members having had to leave Toulouse. In 2010, drummer Nicolas Sordello climbed up the band with bassist Rémy Alarcón and four new members: Manon Civial on singing, Pascal Guehl and Adrien Salado on guitars, and Nicolas "Nacht" Huguenot on keyboards. By welcoming new personalities into his ranks, Theopsya also gains new influences. The new titles offer a technical or even progressive component, as well as a slight Death Mélodic dimension. This line-up recorded the group's first effort, Tales Of An Angel, which appeared at the end of 2011. Theopsya defends his EP on the local scene, opening for large groups when they stop in Toulouse, including Whyzdom and Leprous. After several line-up changes, a new album, Endless , was released in late 2017. A new track, recorded at the same time as Endless , was released as a single in January 2023.
