Biography

These New Puritans is an English band from Southend-on-Sea, formed in 2006, originally composed of Jack twins (song, multi-instrumentalist) and George Barnett (battery), Thomas Hein (bass, keyboard), and Sophie Sleigh-Johnson (keyboard, who will leave the band in 2012). In 2007, after a first EP Now Pluvial released the previous year on the label Angular Records, the quater invested the studio and recorded a first album by the name of Beat Pyramid, which landed in the bins early 2008, with the post-punk accent this first jet is yet Jack's statements strongly influenced by Aphex Twin or the Wu-Tang Clan. In the meantime, the band's mural, evolution and radical change of direction, Hidden , the second baby of the group marks a gap with its predecessor to finally keep only a few things from it, in a neo-classical/experimental vein, the opus produced by Graham Sutton (Bark Psychosis ), sees the participation of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, praised by the critics, Hidden will be elected album of the year at the NME awards, in addition to Angular he releases at Domino.
