Thrice
Biography
Formed in 1998 in Irvine, California, the quartet can be released in 2000, thanks to the support of Paul Miner (Death By Stereo), his first album, Identity Crisis . After a few dates, Thrice did not fail to be noticed by the label Hopeless / Sub City, at which they signed in 2001. Re-edition of Identity Crisis , toured with Samiam , Midtown and Hot Rod Circuit , the band then returned to the studio to record The Illusion of Safety , under the leadership of no less famous Brian McTernan (The Juliana Theory , Hot Water Music , Cave In , Snappase ). This popular hxc punk jewel will be published in early 2002; Californians get on a tour with Further Seems Forever, and Face To Face. February 2003, Dustin and his peers are back in the studio, but this time with a larger budget as they were able to sign at Island Records (Autopilot Off, Thursday, PJ Harvey). The Artist in the Ambulance , third opus of the quartet, was released in August 2003. Success is at hand, but the group, despite its signature, continues to offer a share of its income to charities. Two years later, the quartet announced the release of its fourth opus, Vheissu, which marks a new turning point with more experimental music. In 2007, Dustin Kensrue released a solo album entitled Please Come Home, which does not prevent training from working on an ambitious project aimed at producing the 4 natural elements: The Alchemy Index in music. Volumes I&II ( Fire&Water ) and III & IV ( Air & Earth ) were released via Vagrant , the group's new label, a few months apart between 2007 and 2008. In early 2009, the group announced its upcoming return with Beggars, scheduled for October of the same year, followed by Major/Minor. The combo delivers two opus of the same vein, then announces an indefinite hiatus in 2012. The musicians take the opportunity to focus on other projects, Puig Destroyer or Angels & Airwaves. At the end of 2014, Thrice teases her return for the following year, via an image unveiled on their site. This announcement will be made in 2016 with To Be Everywhere is to be Nowhere .
