Thulcandra

The name Thulcandra comes from a demo of Darkthrone , itself in reference to the 1938 science fiction novel called Out Of The Silent Planet by C. S. Lewis. The training began in 2003 and a demo entitled Perishness Around Us was recorded in 2005 before the founding guitarist, Jürgen Zintz (ex Obscura), committed suicide. Steffen Kummerer (Guitare / Chant - Obscura) is back on these demos a few years later and surrounds himself with Tobias Ludwig (Basse), Sebastian Ludwig (Guitare) to reform Thulcandra in 2008. The trio, assisted by a session drummer, Seraph (Dark Fortress) recorded a first album entitled Fallen Angel's Dominion in line with a Black / Death Metal Melodium inspired by Dissection. There is also a cover of the band: The Somberlain . In the wake the now quartet is released Under A Frozen Moon in 2011 at Napalm Records. It is with these two records that the Germans sit down their reputation and begin to seriously talk about them in the context of extreme music with melodic accointations. But line-up problems are coming. Erebor (Secret Of The Moon) arrives at the battery in 2014. Ascension Lost, their third opus, was released in 2015, but Seraph is still credited as a drummer on the disc. There are also at the end of the album, three demos composed by Jürgen Zintz at the very beginning of Thulcandra . An ep appeared the following year, entitled Perishness Around Us, where Steffen Kummerer was the only master on board for most instruments and Jonas Baumgartl on drums. Thulcandra hasn't shown too much life except that in 2021 Steffen returned with a new line-up: Mr.Delastik on guitar, and Carsten Schorn on bass. At Dying Wish, their new album was announced by the end of 2021, still at Napalm Records.
