Thursday
Biography
The New Brunswick quintet makes a small name by turning it and there in their native New Jersey, sometimes alongside Boy Sets Fire, At The Drive-In or Hot Water Music. Waiting, the band's first CD, on Eyeball Records (NY), doesn't get long... and the recognition comes soon enough thanks to the signature of the combo on Victory Records and the resulting masterpiece Full Collapse. Following differences with Tony Brummel (Victory's Boss) about the musical orientation of the band in particular, Thursday took off and signed on Major Island Records, not without having previously released an EP live Five Stories Falling, under the constraint of the contract linking them to the Chicago label. Taking his time, Thursday awaits 2003 to lay War All The Time. Benefiting from the large distribution and promotion structures, the album is a success and propel the band on many national tours; the European premiere takes place in May '04... In 2005 MP3s are stolen from the iPod of their turn manager, 5 demo titles of which the group is not satisfied. 4 will be (modified) on their 2006 album A City by the Light Divided , and one on the 2008 one released by Epitath : Common Existence . Meanwhile the band had time to release a split with the Japanese of Envy. In 2011 the band released a new album on Epitath: No Devolución . The band will take advantage of the tour to make some dates dedicated to their first album released 10 years earlier.
