Torche
Biography
Torche was formed in 2004 in Miami on the ashes of Stoner/Sludge Floor by singer Steve Brooks and guitarist Juan Montoya. Once the line-up was complete, Torche recorded an eponymous debut album that was soon noticed for his very original Stoner/Sludge catchy and tinted with Pop accents, released by Robotic Empire. The band started preparing a new album for 2007 which was finally released the following year at Hydra Head: Meanderthal . Produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge ), the disc ranks at the top of some tops and gets excellent reviews. At the end of 2008, Juan Montoya left the band for musical differences. He also created the MonstrO group. Torche did not throw the sponge and continued his tours with Dredg and Harvey Milk , while launching in the composition of his new opus, Harmonicraft , which was released in 2012 at Volcom Entertainment , after the arrival in 2011 of Andrew Elstner ( Tilts , Riddle Of Steel ). In 2014, Torche signed with Relapse Records for the release of his 4th LP Restarter , produced by bassist Jonathan Nuñez and mixed this time again by Kurt Ballou ( Converge ). The album released in February 2015, preceded and followed by a world tour celebrating the band's 10 years and the kind of opus.
