Uada
Biography
Uada , a formation of Black Metal melodic from Portland, was founded in 2014 by two ex-Infernus: Trevor Matthews (Battery) and James Sloan (Guitare). They are joined by Mike Beck (Basse) and Jake Superchi (Guitare / Chant) with whom they compose a first album, Devod Of Light , released in 2016 by Eisenwald Tonschmiede. Their rise is fulgurating, thanks to their ingenious and powerful Black Metal Melodium finding its roots in groups like Dissection or in more recent groups such as Mgla or Batushka. In 2016, Mike left the band and was replaced by Robb Bockman on bass and it was Trevor's turn in 2017 to leave the band and have a replacement for the drums in the person of Brent Boutte. This new quartet composes Cult Of A Dying Sun which appeared in 2018 and is in line with the first album. Robb and Brent left Uada in 2018 and it is now the waltz of musicians for several years: After a fleeting appearance of Edward Halpin for just one year, Nate Verschoor has been the bass player since 2019. Josiah Babcock held the position of drummer between 2018 and 2020, the time for the group to record their third effort, Djinn , but who disappointed some of the audience at his reception. In 2020, Elijah Losch replaced Josiah on drums for two years and Josh Lovejoy had been in the post since 2022. Crepuscule Natura appeared in 2023.
