Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats
Biography
Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats is a band of Doom / Psychedelic Rock from the perfid Albion, formed in 2009 around K. R. Starrs, leader of the group quickly nicknamed Tonton Acid. After an unnoticed first album (Uncle Acid&the Deadbeats - Volume 1 ), enjoying an interesting sound, mixed by Pentagram at their debut and Sabbatian gimmicks, all coated with a prod and a rading sound, absolutely authentic, the band is finally hailed by critics and begins to make a name thanks to their second album Blood Lust in 2011. Doom fragile and psychedelic rock come together, letting all the influences of the band escape. Some sum up the sound of the quartet to a diabolical jam between the Alice Cooper of the beginnings, the Stooges and the terrible Black Sabbath of the 1970s, the band did not hesitate, and it became a little the trademark of their albums, to use exclusively instruments of the time to return this particular grain. Doom and psychedelic rock, with old matos, a line-up of young nostalgic, led by a man front whose voice often makes think of a subtle mixture between Lennon and Mc Cartney, on some titles of the Beatles: this is a group that has quite relevant arguments, which Blood Lust will bring to light in a rather convincing way. Between dusty heavy delicately unhealthy and creative psychedelic breakthroughs, Tonton Acid manages to settle comfortably on an atypical niche that is the psyched doom. In 2013 the band released Mind Control, the recipe is pretty much the same, except that the band incorporates in its music a bit of pop 70's for a surprising result, which will make the unanimity overrun. Mind Control is a concept album, telling the story of a guru descended from his mountain and indoctrinating his followers, not hesitant to use all the "tricks" of the profession: drugs, sex, violence and intimidation. A great classic that always works very well! Some memorable concerts and tours will follow in Europe, including an appearance at the Hellfest, Reading Festival, Roskilde Festival and Roadburn, as well as a first part of Black Sabbath's concerts at the original line-up meeting in 2013. The British released their fourth studio album in 2015, The Night Creeper, which also received a very good reception.
