Union Of Uranus

Union of Uranus (often reduced to Uranus) was formed in Ottawa, Canada, in the mid-1990s. The gas makers begin their very short discography with a demo cassette called Backhand which will later become the face of their split with His Hero is Gone. The Canadians will chain with another split alongside Immoral Squad and then a double EP reissued in 12" format by Farewell Records. A leading Canadian DIY player, Union of Uranus has been instrumental in connecting many bands to the local hardcore scene such as the excellent Shotmaker or One Eyed God Prophecy. Uranus was also committed to the creation of the label The Great American Steak Religion, which, in the 1990s, greatly enhanced the Canadian crusty scene until the band disappeared. Uranus members subsequently became involved in various formations such as Speedy Huffler King, Dead Man's Right Hand, His Hero Is Gone and Tragedy.
