United Nations
Biography
A very mysterious formation than that of United Nations, a priori
created by Thursday's frontman (Geoff Rickly) - only permanent member
of UN - certainly joined by Daryl Palumbo ( Glassjaw , Head Automatica ) and Ben Koller
( Converge ), plus a few others visibly...
by the wearing of Ronald Reagan masks on the promotional photos,
not clearly identifying the group members. Boys like Christopher Conger ( The Number Twelve Looks Like You ), Eric
Cooper ( Made Out Of Babies , Kiss It Goodbye ), Lukas Previn ( Acid Tiger ), Tom Keeley ( Thursday ) and Jonah Bayer ( The Lovekill ) would also be
of the part. United Nations appears as a concept
a bunch of friends (hence the surname) who want to demolish everything together, in a symphony
screamo / power-violence early 90's, rather politicized in the text, and not very far from Orchid. First
eponymous album hardly sees daylight in 2008 at Eyeball Records,
because of copyright, controversial cover (the Beatles on Abbey Road), and beaking with the international organization of the same name. It will be followed by an EP ( Never Mind The Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures) in 2010 at Deathwish, and other objects more or less short, obscure and difficult to date (Music For Interchangeing Parts, Stole The Past, Fucked The Future, United Nations Plays Pretty For A Bunch Of Fucking Babies, The Dark Side Of The UN).
