Velvet Revolver
Biography
It can be said that the story of Velvet Revover begins in 2002 when the three former Guns N'Roses , Slash ( soloist guitarist), Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (battery) participate in a concert in memory of their friend Randy Castillo (Ozzy Osbourne , Mötley Crüe ). There the three contenders realize that alchemy still works and decide to replay together as 'The Project'. Shortly after Dave Kushner (Wated Youth , Suicidal Tendencies , Infectious Grooves ...), a former high school friend of Slash and Duff guitarist, joined the adventure and the composition phase began. But the band is still without a singer and then starts a long series of auditions that didn't give much. More than 500 singers were screened, including Sebastian Bach ( Skid Row), Kelly Shaefer ( Neurotica) and even Mike Patton ( Faith No More). All this does not lead to anything Duff then comes into contact with Scott Weiland, newly detoxified and separated from the Stone Temple Pilots. Weiland corresponded to the charismatic leader others were looking for in vain, and joined the group in 2003 which then took the name 'Reloaded', another temporary name since the group quickly changed to Velvet Revover. The band recorded Money, a cover of Pink Floyd for The Italian Job. Shortly after Velvet Revover released the title Set Me Free for the soundtrack of The Hulk , which is also featured on the album Contraband released in August 2004. The album is hard, quickly reaching the first place of the charts everywhere. The band then went on a long tour of almost two years before releasing its second album, Libertad .
