Biography
Andreas Flygare - guitar + choir Dana - guitar + choir Rodrigo Alfaro - drums Oskar Mikaeal Persson - bass + singing
The story of Venerea began in 1991 in Falkenberg, Sweden, under the name of Venereal Disease, who were content to cover up their favourite Bad Religion, Hard-Ons or the Ramones. Two demos later, From beer to Eternity (92) and The Second Cuming of Venereal Disease (93), the Swedish changed their name to Venerea simply, the name of an American rocket that was to be sent to the planet Venus. Hullabaloo is Venerea's first "real" album released in 1994 on Brööl Records followed by Swollen (95) and the mythical Shake Your Booty (95) before their Swedish label stopped. It was then that Venerea decided to export to the old continent and more particularly Germany: Gift of Life Records released Both Ends Burning in 97, Community Records Losing Weight, Gaining Ground (2000) and finally People Like Your Records, Out in the red in 2003. Europe also offers Venerea the opportunity to tour in support of Ten Foot Pole and on the Vans Off The Wall Tour with Ignite, SNFU, Deviates and Powerhouse. Ten years after leaving a Swedish label, the combo returns to the sources by signing on Bad Taste Records, the label of the Satanic Surfers or other Logh, to release their last opus, One Louder. 2008, After a change of drummer (and not just any since this is the arrival of Rodrigo, ex- Satanic Surfers, Intensity and other Ennemy Alliance) and three years of waiting the band releases Black Beach Recordings , an EP of 4 tracks for the first time in their history on the same label as on their previous release.
