At the separation of the Ved Buens Ende, Crzal, a well-known member of the Norwegian black metal scene (leader of Aura Noir , live drummer for Dimmu Borgir , having participated in many projects like Ulver , Dodheimsgard , Satyricon and some thrash bands), decides to mount Virus with his Plenum acolytes at Bass and Sursjo at drums, in order to push further the aesthetic set up with VBE. They quickly released a demo showing them eager to abandon the black metal for more rock and especially more personal sounds. In 2003, they released their first album Carheart which received a good critical welcome but remained confidential, the rather eccentric form of music and texts with surrealist tendencies - the album speaks "dogs and cars" according to Czral - does not help Virus to overcome the circles of lovers of musical bizarreness. The evolution of the group, which is currently seen as a studio project, is slowed down by the serious accident that occurred to its leader, who was hospitalized almost a year for a fourth floor fall in 2005. Not let down, once his convalescence has been accomplished, although temporarily unable to walk, Crzal and his peers return to composition and release The Black Flux at Season Of Mist , a second album even better received by the public. Encouraged by the praises written for them, composition sessions for a third effort are held at the end of 2009 to finally give birth in 2011 to The Agent That Shaped The Desert, released on their own label, Virulent Music. Following this exit and the complete recovery of his legs by Czral, the first steps on scene of Virus are taken in the company of their old comrades from Ulve r in London. The invitations to perform in prestigious festivals follow: Sonisphere in Greece, Hole In The Sky in Norway, Roadburn in the Netherlands, Brutal Assaut in the Czech Republic... Between their many projects and live performances in Oslo with Goblin or Vojvod, they managed to find time to start rehearsals for a fourth album in late 2013, which was announced for 2 April 2014.
