Volbeat
Biography
Volbeat is a Danish-born group. Taken by their
Michael Poulsen, the band is best known for creating a
New style called "Elvis Metal". The singer's parents are huge fans
of the King and Johnny Cash, Michael was strongly inspired by these
rock legends that rocked his childhood. The other major influence of the group
is Death, which gives this side sometimes retro, limit croon sometimes with the
striking and brutal side of the metal.
The themes addressed by the Danes are multiple,
talk about both spirituality, gangsters, cars and girls,
themes that are dear to America in the 1950s.
The only two remaining founding members of the group are
Michael Poulsen, and John Larsen, the drummer. Anders Kjolholm, the
bassist left the band in 2015. Several guitarists followed each other
until the arrival in 2013 of Rob Caggiano (ex- Anthrax, The damned things). To date the discography counts six
studio albums (The Strength/The sound/The songs - 2005, Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil - 2007, Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood - 2008, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven - 2010, Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies - 2013 and Seal the Deal and let's boogie - 2016) as well as a live album (Live from Beyond Hell/Above Heaven - 2011).
