Vomitory
Biography
Vomitory was created in 1989 in Karlstadt, Sweden at the time of the death-metal birth in these cold countries. The founder of the band, Urband Gustafsson (Guitare), Ronnie Olson (Basse / Chant) and Ulf Dalegren (Guitare) begin to play together inspired by underground bands of the period such as Sodom, Napalm Death, Slayer or Venom. Several demos were recorded in the early 1990s, but the line-up was very unstable and was redesigned for the release of a first album in 1996. Jussi Linna is recruited for singing, Erik Rundqvist on bass and a drummer in the person of Tobias Gustafsson makes his appearance. Raped In Their Own Blood was released in 1996 at Fadeless Records, allowing for a great success on the underground scene for Vomitory, then a second album released in 1999, Redemption, which shows a notable musical evolution since the beginning of the combo. In 2000, Vomitory signed with Metal Blade Records, and after the departure of Jussi Linna, the band was reduced to four members and bassist Erik Rundqvist took up the position of singer. They then made the first part of Cannibal Corpse for their European tour and then released Revelation Nausea on their new label in 2001. Blood Rapture in 2002 and Primal Massacre in 2004 quickly followed and increased their reputation on the Death-Metal stage. They take part in European festivals and tours, but in 2005 guitarist Ulf Dalegren left, replaced by Peter Östlund who partly renews Vomitory's music. Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize , their sixth album, released in 2007 and became one of the best Swedish hits. In 2009, Vomitory celebrates the twenty years of the band's existence with Carnage Euphoria and shoots with Malevolent Creation. Opus Mortis VIII , their last creation was released in 2011. The band ended the adventure in December 2013 with a final concert, met in August 2017 Summer Breeze Open Air for a unique set paying tribute to Michael Trengert of Metal Blade Records who died a month later. Vomitory is really reforming in March 2018 for the band's thirty years and releases All Heads Are Gonna Roll in 2023 on Metal Blade Records again and again.
