Biography

The pretty legend is that Warpaint formed around Emily Kokal on February 14, 2004, Valentine's Day. Whether it is this or its birth in the City of Angels, Warpaint has a sweet taste of returning to it undeniably addictive. The quartet played its first songs on stage in 2007, which will constitute a first EP, Exquisite Corpse , mixed and masturised by John Frusciante (ex-guitarist of the Red Hot Chile Peppers , and Kokal's boyfriend at the time). First self-produced, the short album was republished in 2009 by Manimal Vinyl and aired internationally. A quick jump, which leads the girls to sign at Rough Trade and open for The XX on their European tour. Following The Fool in 2010, pleasant independent confectionery, draped with cotton that will receive a real critical blessing. Running relentlessly until 2013, Warpaint will continue in the same quiet vein until he releases his eponym the following year, mixed by Nigel Godrich (producer of Radiohead , and member of Ultraista and Atoms for Peace ), adding to the soft guitars of silky electro touches. Development in continuity, therefore.
