Waterdown
Biography
Waterdown is the spearhead of the German emocore scene. Formed in 2000 in Osnabruck around the 2 singers Ingo and Marcel, the band gained a strong national reputation as soon as its first EP Draw A Smiling Face was released on Two Friends Recordings. It was Kyle Bishop, a Grade singer (RIP) who noticed them on a joint tour with the Germans and persuaded Tony Brummel, Victory Records' boss to listen to what they did and incidentally sign them. It's very quickly done since Never Kill The Boy On The First Date comes out in '01 on the Chicago label, allowing the band to enjoy a good distribution and join tours on both continents. After a small 7" split with the Germans of By A Thread and 2 replacements (battery and guitar), Waterdown goes back to '03 for an album with Victory: The Files You Have On Me .
