White Hassle
Biography
White Hassle formed in New York in the mid-1990s, under the leadership of Marcellus Hall (chant/guitar/harmonica) and Dave Varenka (battery) who previously served in Railroad Jerk. The band will quickly begin writing its first opus, National Chain. This one will be released in 1997 at the prestigious Matador Recordings, and will remain confidential despite the favourable reception of the critic. At the end of their first tours, White Hassle's members put the cover back in 2000 with the EP Life Is Still Sweet , distributed at Orange Recordings and seeing the arrival of guitarist Matt Oliveiro. 2002 marks the beginning of the collaboration between the group and the Parisian label Fargo, with the release of The Watertank EP. But we have to wait until 2003 to listen to The Death Of Song , their second album in which guests will become recurring, such as DJ Atsushi Numata. In 2005, White Hassle returned with his third album: Your Language .
