White Zombie
Biography
In 1985 Rob Zombie and Sean Yseult formed the White Zombie group, a learned mix of Rock, Punk and Heavy Metal. The band is mainly influenced by Rob Zombie's passion (originally called Rob Straker) for old horror films. He himself will take care of everything that affects the group's design: covers, T-shirts, concert posters and video clips, which he will later make. Their first E.P Gods On Voodoo Moon (limited to 300 copies) was released in 1985 on the band's label Silent Explosion. The band was composed of Rob Straker, Sean Yseult at Bass, Ena Kostabi at Guitar and Peter Landau at Battery. Still on Silent Explosion, Pig Heaven / Slaughter The Grey (2 x 500 copies) was born in 1986. Ena Kostabi and Peter Landau are replaced by Tim Jeff and Ivan DePrume. Psychohead Blowout (1000 copies) is also released on Silent Explosion in May 1987. Tim Jeff will give up his role as guitarist to Tom Guay. Their first album was released in November 1987. Soul Crusher , published on Silent Explosion with 2000 copies, then re-edited by Caroline Records (who later occupied Rock City Morgue ). In 1988, J. took the place of guitarist. Pushed by Iggy Pop the band entered the studio with Bill Lawsell and released the same year Make Them Die Slowly. In 1990 the band signed with Geffen Records, released in 1992 La Sexorcisto : Devil Music Vol. 1 . Astro-Creep: 2000 marks White Zombie's return in 1995. The album is a hit (triple platinum record) and Rob Zombie receives the award for the best "Hard Rock" video at the MTV Video Music Award for his video "More Human Than Human". The Supersexy Swingin' Sounds remix album was released in 1996 and also became a platinum record. At the initiative of Rob Zombie (who then began the composition of his first solo album) the band separated in 1997. Rob Zombie immediately followed his solo career, which was a great success. He will also make some films, among them: The House of the 1000 Dead, Devils Rejects and Hall9ween. Sean Yseult formed the band Surf Rock Famous Monster (also known as Fabulous Monster ) in 1997. Then in 2001 met Rik Slave (ex. Man Scout Of America), Rock City Morgue was born. J. Yuenger, like Rob Zombie, also has several strings at his bow. Guitarist of course (he formed Stendec in 2000 with Joe Daniels of Local H, and Bull Taco in 2003 with Morris, Dave Navarro, Chad Smith ( Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Zander Schloss (Circle Jerks)) but also the production (he had already produced the B.O of Radio Rebel). One can see at the controls of the Chicago Cab B.O in 1998, of the Fu Manchu group but also at the production of the latest Rock City Morgue Dead Mans Song . John Tempesta continues as an independent drummer. We could see about the productions of Rob Zombie, Scum Of The Earth, Helmet, Testament, The Cult.
